We created Oceansound in 2017 because we wanted an event that was all about yoga. We want Oceansound to be fun and inspiring but also diverse and inclusive of the English speaking yoga community in Taiwan. We want Oceansound to be accessible, and an opportunity for sharing and discovering all that yoga is and can be.
We invite a diverse group of Taiwan's English speaking yoga teachers to share their perspective and passion for yoga. Oceansound is a place to discover and share the heart of yoga.

The word yoga means to yoke-to unite, to connect. Connect to what? To everything! Explore a diverse array of connective yoga practices rooted in body, mind and breath connection. In zen walking and synchronized group movements we develop social connection. With partner yoga, we explore the meridians and experience the gift of giving and receiving. Come with a curious heart for an experience filled with joy, music and heartful presence.
[With Co-teacher Leonie] Yin yoga is a contemplative embodiment practice in which we explore the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians including ligaments, joints, bones. We bring compassionate awareness to our “edges”, the natural boundaries of our connective tissue where tightness and tension often reside. Longer held postures give us ample opportunity to explore our inner landscapes, create space and bring prana and kindness to our edges. Additionally, healing sounds can permeate our biofields, enhance our meditative states and transmute energies. Malabika guides us through yin, Leonie provides soothing sounds and together we transcend into a deeper state of consciousness.
In this restorative yoga class you’ll learn about meridians that are used in traditional Chinese Medicine, their connection with fascia -connective tissue, internal organs and emotional stagnation in the body. We will start this session with meridian activation technique and meridian based fascial stretches, following by series of relaxing yoga poses.

In this class we will explore fluid motion within poses rather than between poses. We will begin slowly as we get in touch with our bodies and gradually work in dance-like elements as we pick up the pace. Of course we'll finish with a little dance party and group hug!
Karina will share the ancient tools taught by Lady Niguma, a female yogi who lived 1000 years ago in India. We will work to open six different chakras using the tools of Asana and Bija Mantras. When chakras are opened, prana can flow in the central channel allowing us to feel calmer, happier, more creative, and most importantly, closer to who we really are.
Bathe and Play in the waves of devotion and love with Karina, Neo and Phillip
Mandala (Sanskrit: circle) art is an abstract design that is usually circular in form. Generally, we start drawing mandala from the center point by using any shapes, forms or symbols we desire. In essence, mandalas represent the connection between our inner worlds and outer reality. We can design a mandala to symbolize a state of mind that we are currently in. They are great tools for meditation and increasing self-awareness. Cultures around the world use mandalas in their spiritual practices such as Tibetan Buddhism and Hinduism. For this 40 min workshop we will spend 10 min learning some simple patterns for inspiration, then 30 min to play with geometric and organic forms to complete a unique mandala art that express your sense of self and your point of view.
